Hello guys and gals. Found this forum late last night and have been here reading all day. I was a mixer driver for 10 years then decided to go out and look for a more money. I found what I was looking for in construction work, until recently. My old employer, a family owned business, called me and asked if I'd be interested in getting back behind the seat. When I left three years ago, I could drive any truck on the yard -rock hauler (we haul all our own agg), cement hauler (18 wheeler hauling powder), any mixer truck, as well as any loader or tractor we owned-. So, when I got the call, it felt nice that they would want to hire me back and actually needed me! This time though, I demanded my price and didn't back down. I've been happy with my construction job, but I'm always up for more money and better benefits. Glad to be heading back to a job that I always enjoyed. I was an over the road driver before I took the mixer job almost 14years ago.
Anyway. I hope this place livens up some. I know a lot of drivers don't know how to turn a computer on or work this new fangled electronic world (iPhones/iPads). So I know most of our type people just don't know this place exists. (I didn't until I googled around a bit) Maybe with some new guys here to bring back some old threads we can get this community back up and rollin.
Keep the shinny side up guys.
