Is it just me or can you tell if a customer bid the job to cheap by the complaints you hear from them? When things really got slow is when the complaints started. I guess I would want to complain as well if my bid didn't cover material. 1. To save money they dont spend the manhours to get a good subgrade. 2. They order exactly off the measurments on the plan even though the grade it anything but consistent. 3. They complain about the cost of concrete even when it is still at 2009 pricing!!! 4. don't even mention short load fees!! Short loads and callbacks are a wasted truck and they complain to us about a fee? I dont mean to sound neagative because I really do love my job but these are the things I have trouble making sense out of.

Hear it all the time. After 36 years I quit arguing and reasoning with them and just smile and nod. One guy several years ago was giving me so much crap about his COD order being late and not enough trucks and should of had more left over etc. I finally told him to shut up and finish writing out the F--k-g check because ihad spent way too much time there already.
