I just had my best year since back in 2000. Work is plentiful. Especially towards the top of the seniority list.

I had to leave driving a mixer truck in Oct 2007 because we were down to 20 hrs per week. I worked in Southern California and 2 months later the plant went from 38 drivers down to 9 drivers due to layoff. I am finally back driving a mixer since Sept 2014 and I missed it so. I am now in South Carolina and working 50 hrs regularly. We have about 4 companies hiring Mixer Drivers here.

Just got back on,lost track of this group. Retired from Lafarge, then worked Cemex now Valley Transit in Amish country of PA. Seems like there is a lack of qualified drivers,I keep getting calls by companies to work in Texas,S Dakota etc.

NYC has a bunch of work. Im #30 driver out of 89 drivers and work every day. Company was just bought out by US Concrete who says they want to take over the industry in the area. They say they are looking to establish a 500 man seniority list!
