The truck the guy is standing beside brings back memories. When I started out the company still had a few of those old Binders. Ours had separate 6cyl. engines for the mixers though. The one in the pic must run off the PTO with that shaft sticking out the side like it is. My first mixer was similar to that one only it had a big V8 and they ran pretty good. The six bangers as we called them were alright, they pulled good. Kind of like driving an older Mack. If you didn't really feel like grabbing a lower gear, don't. She'll probably pull it. We had one guy that ran a six banger every day. He wouldn't give it up. It was like him. slow and predictable.
