I was on vacation the week between Christmas and New Years but that week even our top only worked one day, cold weather. The next week, no body worked, colder weather and snow. Since then, I've worked about every day miss one now and then but that's OK, I've been there 34 years and I like being off in the winter. Hell, I like being off in the spring, summer, and fall. Out of 16 drivers, on our busiest day they'll bring in maybe 9 or 10 but that's only a day or two a week.

In Boston I'm 12th on the list of 45 and working every day. Have had only one day off this winter. 1-15 work just about every day. 15-25, 2 or 3 days a week.25-35 once a week. and the rest not working. We used to have 65 drivers 2 years ago. According to the pump operators we are doing alot better than the other companies in the area.

I'm working in Milwaukee was Central Ready Mix now we are Prairie Material. I am 9 Man out of 35. Been working every day 6-8 hours. We have some deep tunnel sewer work. 500 yards a day peagravel mix. Nice job one chute and a pump. But cold weather and ice on truck gets old. Heater and defroster don't keep up. I drive a 1996 Oshkosh S-2146 front discharge mixer.

I work for Dolese in Oklahoma City. Last Sunday we poured 6603 yards between 9:30 AM & 3:30 the next morning. It was the base for the Devon Energy Building, which will be 50 stories high. We used 4 plants, 2 central mix and 2 dry batch. It was a 7000 psi mix with glenium in it to make it a 10 inch slump. Using 10 yard loads we only had 3 rejected loads out of the whole thing. Four Brundage-Bone pumpers which never broke down. The general contractor(Holder-Flintco) was real happy. All the drilling is being done by Berkel Drilling from Kansas with the columms being a 12000 psi mix. Our plant(Midtown) did 1970 yards of it and the other 3 plants did the rest. Their schedule is one floor a week so we will be busy for a while.

That would rule. Is it at least far away, so you get some seat time?
