Sorry I haven't been around much. I guess I needed a break. Things are slow here. We did manage to get our new contract negotiated and ratified. We actually did o.k. We didn't give up anything, and we got raises for the next 3 years, more vacation, eliminated the hours requirement for vacations, vacations based on average money made not just a 40 week, better discipline language and improvement in contract language. Not bad for a terrible economy. I'll try to stop by more often.

We got our contract settled last month. We also did okay. A five year deal, not much in the raise department the first two years, just enough to take care of H&W increases but the last 3 we get some real money. A long way from where we was the first meeting in May.

Our teamsters have their demands meeting tomorrow. Bad year for a contract to run out. The shop steward is talking about being aggressive, but a lot of the rest of the guys are thinking if they can get away with no take-aways, that'll be good.
Of course, I'm now non-union, so if they did strike, I'd probably be the first one asked to scab. I wouldn't, of course.
