I am backing up to the pump when all of a sudden the ground below me caves in. I was like WTF?!?!?!?!?! Beneath me are these tanks which are made of drum roll please....PLASTIC!! anyways these tanks are filled with rain water and then they are full spill out in to the soil. All fine and dandy except these phucking tanks are 2 feet below me and the ground is rated at 60,000lbs. Fantastic! except I'm fully loaded weighing in at 70,000lbs I'm not told of the weight rating until after the fact I get stuck. The morons that designed this are out there scratching their heads going hmmm how could this happen? Easr because the tanks are made out of plastic and I crushed them once I sank in. I was 10 feet short of the pump. 2 wreckers were unable to pull me out because there was a man hols cover next to my door. When they tried pulling me out I sank further. They ended up sending an empty mixer which I ended pumping into the pump in to the empty mixer what a day! The only thing holding me up was my back bumper. In order to stablize the truck we ended up dropping my trailer down. It was a pain the ass to get my load off and unstuck. After I was empty the wrecker pulled me out like nothing.Another fun filled day at the office Total cost of mud, pump and two wreckers to contractor 5478$

Close call there, CMT. But, didn't you know that drivers are supposed to be psychic? You should have known that those tanks were underground!!

Good God. Hit the stop button and get the hell away from there, by golly. Do I see right that your outer duals on the opposite side were off the ground?

My current employer has a liability waiver signature block printed on our delivery tickets that we ask the contractor to sign if he asks a driver to jump a curb, cross a sidewalk or put a mixer in a generally jacked-up position that may lead to stuff getting broken.
If he wants a driver to do something silly we ask him to "sign on the red X".
When he asks "WHY???" (and they usually do) you just tell him, "Well, sir, by signing this you agree that if we break something by attempting to put the truck where you want it that you and you alone will be held financially responsible for any damage to property or our equipment".
Many times they won't sign the block and will just say, "Well, let's try another way......." but if they do sign the block and something gets damaged the driver will most likely (99 times out of 100) be off the hook as far as the company is concerned.
If something gets broken our dispatchers call the safety department and the first word word out of the safety guy's mouth is "Did he get his ticket signed?".
The liability waiver is the driver's get-out-of-jail-free card.
If you do have an accident and you are found liable for it you receive a written warning.
Two accidents in 90 days = three day unpaid suspension.
Three accidents = "we think you should seek employment elsewhere".
One year with no accidents nets one about a $300 safety bonus and that amount increases with each safe year one has with the company.
I know guys who have forty plus years with our company who are cashing annual checks of $11,000 just for being safe.
