That's the first time I ever saw a curb machine. Don't have 'em here in Jersey.

Curb machines are pretty cool, except if you're driving a mixer. Stiff as hell concrete, sharp corners, and it really sucks if you have a manual transmission and a sore knee.

Yes, curb machines suck. I've b!tched about them in other threads.
Our slump meters are in the cab. Some inspectors look at the ones on the outside and play god with it. It's just a GUIDE, dude. Leave me the eff alone.
Nice pics, Yardbird.

I don't think any inspector I've ever seen would know what a slump meter is, let alone how to read one.

I don't think any inspector I've ever seen would know what a slump meter is, let alone how to read one. Most of the inspectors I deal with out here know what the slump meter is and how to read it. When they ask, "Whatcha reading?" I show them my newspaper. That old gag.

I don't think any inspector I've ever seen would know what a slump meter is, let alone how to read one. The inspectors around here actually ask what our slump gauges are reading. They used to complain about them. One thing about a slump gauge, they are more consistent than any 4 inspectors. And I've told a few of them.
