Hello from Atlanta!

The name's Joe, I'm from Atlanta, Ga (a little north actually). Just found this site and decided to register.

I've been in the concrete biz for 12 years. Started as a driver, then yardman, asst. plant manager, plant manager, area manager, customer service manager, dispatch manager and then, in January of this year, laid off.

Business bottomed out here. My company went from 400+ mixers to about 110; 34 plants to nine. Times are tough.

So, that's it! Looking for job leads too, if that's not too out of hand on this forum.

Thanks for the welcome guys. My former employers were very good to me, all things considered. Twelve weeks severence pay, plus a 2004 F-150 4-door with 115,000 miles.

We have way too many mixers in the Atlanta area amongst the dozen or so companies, so a tinning out is needed.
