I don't really complain much, a load is a load, it all pays the same right? wrong!!!! Of all the loads I have hauled for over 26 years, I have two types that I must say I don't look forward to. 1.) 10 yards for post holes 2.) 10 yards with 5 gal bucketsCurb machines, color loads, wheelbarrows, cod's (with forest gump), no sweat but I like to stay warm #1 and #2 I like blood to flow into my clutch leg every once in a while, you know what I'm talking about I could do without ever having to do either of these ever again, that's why I play the lottery ;D and drink beer

I can't disagree with anything you said (except for the curb machines....don't have them here in NJ. We still use forms! Are curb machines any better than forms? Either way, I guess, your clutch leg is going into spasms by the end of the delivery. ).

Curb machines are better for the contractor. They can lay out thousands of feet of curb and gutter in a day. They SUCK for the drivers and batchers. Had one of those jobs today. It's either to wet or to dry. My first load read 2200 on the meter (they demand a 2500 reading without fault). Showed up at the job at 2500. They dumped my whole 90 gallon tank into it, then after a third of the load was off my truck, I had to fill up my tank again and dump another 50 gallons into the load. Second load I took (I was second from the last on this one) I was to wet. 2200 on the meter. The last guy after me was to wet, 2300, and they were dumping cement bags into his drum. Most curb machine jobs we get are a b!tch.
Any chute pour that involves moving the truck around to get at weird spots, like curb and gutter for a parking lot where the ground hasn't been graded. I always tell the chute man to hold on, cause it's gonna be bouncing all over the place.

I cant stand Kickers cause your always near a big ass hole with three chutes on with a 3'inch slump and they want to back you up right to the edge of a six foot deep hole

I frickin' hate cheap ass foundation guys that won't hire a pump. Hanging all your chutes and bouncing around a home site tailgaiting walls. Then to top it off they have the frickin' sill plates already installed so your tring to pour mud down a 3" gap. All the way around a 4000sf house.

Two things come to mind:
1. Core holes: We work with a few utility companies that drill 6" diameter holes all around a neighborhood, and we fill them with CDF. They'll usually take more than 2 hours (one time, I showed up on a job, and we didn't even start for another 1 1/2 hours. Crew didn't even know they were pouring, had to call their boss), and don't leave you a place to clean up. And forget about speaking English. Most of the time, after that long, we still bring a majority of the load back.
2. Walls with an OshKosh. Contractors will have a wall that is a bit tall, so they'll order an OshKosh. Yes, they're a bit taller, but they still have to abide by the Law of Gravity. Usually makes for a big damn mess.

Damn, the lengths some people will go to not order a pump. Next time they should just bid the God damn job how it should be. In a time like that, I just pour it how they want me to, and if it spills over the side of their extension, so be it. I'm not going to alter my flow if they don't say to, because after all, I'm just a driver, they're the experts.
