What rpm do you guys run your engines at under the plant? Our newest trucks are setup so that they only have to turn 1400 rpm to get the max speed of the drum.
I run my truck at 1600-1800 wherever it ends up when i push the throttle buttons. I notice no difference in drum speed between 1600 and max of 2300 rpm
How about you guys?

Our trucks have cruise control. They wind up between 1800 and 2000. Every truck is a little different.

I see 2000, 1800, 1600??? Must hear the sound of a Boeing 747 than!
Mine never more than 1200 and most of the time I'll put it back to about 900/1000. It's enough to keep it in. To most of the trucks it makes no difference for the drum if you make 1200 or 2000 rpm.

Whatever the maximum on the particular truck I am driving. Its not going to hurt the truck, and I'd rather not have to clean up a mess.

1600 is perfect. if you drive the truck everyday you should repect it enough to not make it scream loud as hell

1500rpm is normal but i like it at 13 or 14 hundred so its not so bloody nosiey.
In one yard its nice and open so its not as loud butnin another its enclosed so its loud as hell and i cant hear the mix when slumping because sometimes ill slump by ear if is under 1mtr and i cant see it

The Mac I used to drive had a sticker on the door with a suggested RPM of 1800. you may find amongst all those warning labels in spanish and french around your truck some usefull info. If not rev it to the limit

2100 during loading (The gov) the faster the loading RPM the quicker the mixing and the sooner you know the real slump and can leave the yard. Every drum is different so some can mix slower and get the same results.

I drive an 07 Pete with a Schwing/Streeter Mixer and it maxes out on cruise at about 1500, my old Mack with a Mc Neilus used to top out at about 2100 but it was a lever action so you could run it wide open.
