we run a stephens plant here, belt fed, have 3 cement silos @ 80 ton a piece and 5 aggregate bins, 4 hold 33.5 tons and 1 holds 67 ton. can batch a ten yard load in just under 4 minutes. we meter water right into the truck, no holding tank, but we also run a reclaimer here. the only thing i think we could have changed in construction of the plant is to have moved the loading bay to the east side of the plant and the office to the west, the wind pretty much blows from the southwest to the northeast here so...any dust gets blown on the office. we also could have changed the way the belt feeds the trucks, right now the belt feeds the truck from a ninety degree angle, would have been better to load straight on, that way the material could get thrown back into the trucks.

Anybody work with portables? I mean ones that get moved a couple times per year for various jobs? How about the port-a-pour units? www.portapour.com/portapour.htm

I think when a person asks what kind of plant your running, they would be thinking more of the lines of transit mix, ready mix,or hybrid. By the way my 198 (kenworth) is down and they're making me drive a mack, boy does it S#@%!

Man, I have been out of the forum for a long time, so that is your interpretation of the thread, I gave mine. The first post to the thread does ask what brand so...I think in my original post pretty much spelled out every detail of my plant anyway so...

I run an MTM batchmaster 12. Its been in place since 94 or 95. We just replaced the agg bins last summer. amazing how long this thing has lasted. The kicker is I have an Alkon Spectrum V 4.43 batching system. I love the manual board, can run it blind-folded but its all just so outdated. Tryin to get the boss to upgrade.

I run a Coneco Low Pro. Originally a dry batch converted to a Central batch 2 yrs ago. 1 cement silo, 140 tons, flyash is 75 ton. Five agg bins on ground, 3/8, sand, 1inch, inch and a half, and light weight. three over heads, each hold about 100 ton. we have both scaled and metered water, fresh and reclaim and a 10,000 gallon hot water tank. belt fed with a 36 inch belt. Full load under 2 minutes for sure, if i am running the same mix with the same trim 310 an hour. Changing things up 270 all day long. 0 if I piss of my drivers off. The key to quick batching is knowing your mixes and understanding free fall moisture! With that being said "Pull it under, time to load and go guys! I need it tight, one pulls out one pulls under!"

OUR CENTRAL BATCHERS ARE "ROSSES". OUR DRY BATCHERS ARE "STEPHENS" & "ERIES". OUR BIGGER CENTRAL BATCH PLANTS HAVE 70,000 GAL. CISTERNS FOR HOT WATER AND CHILLED WATER.

we use Con E Co Lo Pro for our portables with CMDAlkon Batching systems - we drag them all over Oregon and Washington. Usually before good roads are built. we use them to make concrete for windmill bases. basically the wind doesn't blow up here, it sucks.
