Maybe if you made it to where people can peruse the forum without registering more people would read it. Then more would want to chime in and then register.

The forum was originally set up like this and we ended up with a whole lot of unwanted posts. You can still register to the forum and remain anonymous, but at least there is a screen name to associate with each post and someone to respond to. It makes for a more organized forum and helps keep the riff raff out ..........for the most part ;D Thanks for the suggestion and your contributions to the forum.

I guess that helps keep out the riff raff, but I still say that if a person could read the forum before registering you would end up with more participation. Just make them register before they post. It acomplishes the same thing. IMHO

I agree with you 100%. When I first set up this forum, I don't believe that was an option. Now that you mention it, and I look into it further; I find that it is. It’s a hot topic among forum administrators and I think the attention given to the topic persuaded the Proboards team to add it as a feature. Seems this suggestion thread has been a bigger benefit that I ever would have thought. The forum is now set to function as you described in your last post. Thanks concretejoe!

No problem. Thanks for listening. Guess we're not all just dumb truck drivers, eh? If only I could get management to listen to suggestions.
