has anyone ever had to do this yet?? I've done this a few times in the past couple months.. we haul 3600 LBS of torpedo rock, or pea gravel and 160 gallons of water and the contractor has a crane lift 3 bags that have Cement, sand, and a bonding agent in it and have a laboror get on your truck and put it in the drum.. then let it mix for about 5 mins?? it is NASTY stuff..gets all over your truck.. and the cement has glue in it so as soon as the powder gets on your drum its stuck.. its supposed to be a 10 sack pea gravel mix.. The guy up on my truck wasnt paying attention lastime and let go of the bag for a second and turned his head just long enough for the bag to move and completly cover my rollers with this stuff.. it took me a month to get it all out

Never heard of that. I hope no one in Jersey hears about it. Who needs the aggravation?

I dont think our company would go for it. what would be the profit for that? a seperate charge for the use of the drum? charge for the agg? doesnt seem worth it. I have heard of hauling just rock from plant to plant due to shortages, or because oddly someone thought it would be better for a mixer to distribute rock at a site rather than a dump truck.

we charge for the rock and $.50 cents a gallon for the water, $160 an hour for the truck and if its the only thing going $500 to open the plant.. and they pay from the time I clock my ticket to leave till I get back.. and my company isnt going to say no, we're the largest around working on the biggest construction job in the country right now..

I've had contractors add bags of color, but I haven't seen that. And I hope I don't.
