Truck was repainted in 5-5-2005. All of our trucks are painted when they receive a new drum. We are required to keep our trucks clean. We are given 30 minutes each night to wash and we all clean when a job isn't ready. This one is cleaner than most because it has been taken care of since day 1. I'm the 4th driver in 12 years. The guy before me had a very good routine and knew all the tricks for a clean truck. The company buys us acid and cab-bright in 55 gallon drums, and all the drivers are given 5 gallon buckets and 2 scrub brush's. They are clean and concrete still gets delivered. In my company when the new trucks arrive it does not matter how long you have been there, it is how you take care of your equipment. The same goes for our dump trucks and heavy equipment too. Here is what my first truck looks like. This was last painted in 2001. It was not properly sand blasted when painted so the rust formed quickly. This truck is a 1995 Oshkosh S-Series Here are some of our old rears, They are almost never used they are all still in great condition, '77-'78 International Paystar 5000 and a '81 Auto car. At this point we only run fronts, when we have very large pours or have pours that are difficult for fronts to access due to height, the mechanic's and past employees will step in and drive. But it very rare! Also used to train new employee's.

Here's a couple more "stuck" pictures. I actually got a compliment from the regular driver when he got back, saying how clean I kept it. Next words out of his mouth were, "I heard you got it stuck!" I was expecting a tongue lashing, but he said, "It won't be the last time. Hell, I used to have my own loader at Centex Homes. I'd get stuck doing one part of the foundation, they'd pull me out, I'd go around the other side, and get stuck again."

That conveyer thing is niffty I could have put that to use so many times. If I had one of those I would not have to do my fancy driving tricks to get the mud into the walls, My problem is every one knows I will try any thing! I have the reputation of hanging the tires off the bankings or stratle a corner, or something stupid to get that extra couple of inches out of my chutes.

Have painted it white now but in the door jams its still the same yellow as yours. Maybe it came from your plant!

I had an interesting pour yesterday. It was a COD, and I drove by these guys sitting in pickups twice, (there aint no forms or NOTHING around) but I kept coming back to them 'they're the only people around here, sigh' They never waved or anything the multiple times i drove by. So anyway, third time around I stop and ask "did you order three yds?" "yes we did" "OK, where you pouring at?" "up there" and they point up. So I'm thinking "ok this'll be easy to get to, there's some equipment up there" so I say "So I can drive up there?" "no" "why?" "They're putting in pipe up there and there's a huge ditch" "well damn, what're you gonna do?" "5 gallon buckets" "Oh hell no" So I got out of the truck and surveyed what they wanted to do. Up there where that wall is, they had dug two holes for the signs for the subdivision, and they were gonna have to carry it over the orange fence (Which had metal wire with it) and up the steep hill to almost on top of the wall up there. So I said "if you'll take the fence down, I'll try to get up there, but only once, I spin a tire or anything, I'm stopping and going back down" So thy took the fence down, and i put a chute on, and.... it backed all the way up there just fine, and I didn't even lock the axles in (super dry) Got to their holes and they just had to drag it a little. Talk about being GLAD? They called both the plant and dispatch and told them how much work I saved them. Here's the pictures, it's steeper than it looks. The best thing was, S.t. Wooten, Thomas AND Sunrock trucks kept going by every couple minutes, and they would all slow down, and look over. Some of them slowed WAY down, and stared, some blew their horns, and a couple of them even made a u-turn to get a second look. I was beside myself because it was just crazy to see the truck up there.
