Yes I ask him on a regular basis why he thinks its so funny to smell that damn bad LOL If he had any brains in his head at all he would take into consideration that we need the money, but coming home and sleeping is so much more important... what a treat for me WOOOHOOOO

Naaaaa... no Family Feud LOL I know how things are up there.... anyway, onto another topic.... so do you all think the rain has came to an end yet??? Its funny though... everyone complains in the summer how they cant wait for winter, and winter comes and everyone cant wait until summer... same with rain... we need the rain, but since it has been raining off and on for what almost 2 weeks and then again it rained for what a weeks straight, and everyone wants it to stop so they can get back to work, but when summer really is here and we dont get any rain at all and its dry, humid and dusty we will all be wanting the rain... Isnt that funny?

Forecast I heard is its about to turn into summer this coming week,,but ya never know those weather ppl get paid to be wrong on a daily basis Kinda ironic how we look forward to change of season in this business,,,but thats the way it is,doesn't take long to get burned out either from working or sitting on winter unenjoyment I know I look forward to both of these yearly events...

I can imagine how it feels for you guys.... when your busy on a regular basis, sometimes having 800 yards a day for weeks, sometimes months at a time.... Im sure I would look forward to the winter months too.... working 10 to 12 hour days 5 days a week and sometimes Saturdays... then again I liked it when you all had Saturday pours.... not cause of the pay, but I could sleep in my bed without getting kicked out of it LOL made the days go by faster cause he was sleeping most of the day WOOOOHOOOO Im so mean arent I???

putting up with john makes people mean...i used to be the nicest guy, now everyone thinks otherwise, and it's all because of johndenver. so there is your excuse, john makes you mean. as far as wanting the seasons to change, about a 300-400 yard day is perfect, if we could do that everyday, all year long, the time would go by so nice. it's days like i've been having that lead to 85 posts on matt's forum.

LOL now you know why im so mean all the time... I USED to be the nicest person in the world ( I know hard to believe with all the stories Im sure good ole john likes to blab about)... now... Im just a cold hearted biatch lol.... yes the 300-400 yard days would be nice since we are so broke lol but who isnt right?? I have this feeling you all are gonna get slammed real soon with the temps being what their "supposed" to be through next week.....

I'll second that on the Hemi, Now I can't wait to see the look on Driver's face tomorrow I might even let Him use the office computer to see how bad He got slammed, Maybe I'll even let Him park upfront next to My Dodge, Or maybe tomorrow might just be a good day to oh maybe grease the plant, clean the baghouse, shovel under the conveyor, or put a coat of wax on My pickup. Either way Matt you just lit up His A-- LOL. I better take some cheese to go with the wine I'll here in the morning as He's crying out how this was a CONSPIRACY !

got a pretty good laugh when matt told me what he did...i didn't get to actually see it, too bad, i really have no preference to chevy's, ford's, dodge's, if you buy a truck, car, etc., and it's good to you, what more could you ask?

now that the kid's are out of school you don't have to drive old john in, must be pretty nice, except for the fact that you are stuck at home with no ride.

Took me a while to reply to this finally got the net back woooohooo..... yes it is nice to not have to take him and yes it sucks real bad with no vehicle to do anything... I have to wait til he gets home to do my running, by then I dont feel like going anywhere.... it sucks though cause its my van and I never get to drive it cause I have to make sure he has the gas to get to work for the week.... Does it look any more promising for there to be longer hours during the day?? Then again, Im sure its been offered stay or go and he bolts out of there LOL Hope works picks up though... everything is getting shut off!!!!

we have a lot of sitting around going on and it should not be charged to company time. I disagree. Even sitting around, I am performing a service for the company. I am there ready to take a load at a moments notice. My time is valuable to me and if the company needs my time they should have to pay for it. I am there to haul concrete. If there is no concrete to haul for a couple of hours, that is not my problem. I don't sell it. That's someone else's job. Either load me, leave me alone or send me home.

"Either load me, leave me alone or send me home. " or put me to work doing something more humane than pullin weeds!!! i can do it if it needs it , but lets do something constructive! wowzers..... just build it they will come.......

Sorry it's been awhile. 'puter went on the fritz. At the plant that I work out of we have two yardmen who's job is to take care of the yard and the plant. Any work around the plant I do would be taking work away from them. Waiting on a load is something constructive. The ready mix industry is a service industry not a manufacturing industry. To have a driver ready to deliver at a moments notice is good service. However, good service costs money. Put it this way, you are on-call at the house. You are being paid because you have to be ready to go to work at a moments notice. Do you really feel that while you are on-call at the house you should be doing something constructive for the company? Do some telemarketing or something? I doubt it! Waiting for a load is very similar. The company needs me to be there "just in case" or because there is concrete to deliver an hour from now. Essentially I'm on-call. I just haven't left the plant. So since the company needs my time they should have to pay for it. If you want to cut "waste" plan out your day, work with the customers and schedule the drivers so there is no lag time. Drivers have no control over this. Why should we have to step up and go the extra mile for something that is dispatch and sales problem?

I clean my truck while I sit and wait, but most of the time I get a load before I get the chance...the way I see it, they're gonna spend the money on new trucks, I'm gonna do my part and take care of it.....
