There has been rumors of co-ownership between them two for YEARS! Maybe when I get some time, I'll look up some tax records, deeds, ect and get to bottom of it once and for all!

Johndenver, how many times do you go home when you could have got another load? hmmm...smells fishy.

i think the plant up the road will be running in about a month. but big boy is quoting a lot of work and getting pricing to some of our competitor's customers so...we've relied so much on the big plant behind us here for work and not pursued any residential guys, shame on us for letting the plant get to the state we are in now.

batchmaster i wont say what smells fishy but you already know what that might be.. i think you will be first in line down the road you just are afraid to admit it....

oh yeah, I want to work 20 hours a day instead of 10-12, that would be smart. If anything would ever happen and I made a career change, it definitely would not be back into the concrete business that's for sure. When you want to put your app in down the road, bring it in, I'll personally fill it out for you. and don't make me tell your concretebiatch you been talking trash at work about her, I would love to see her mop you up. conversation between batchmaster and johndenver at end of day daily, what do you want to do? asks batchmaster. what do you have left? asks johndenver. loads over the border for higher pay, says batchmaster. i'll go with time served, 2-1/4 hours, says johndenver. and then have the nerve to say you can't make any money...boo hoo.

the batchmaster 1, johndenver 0, you just got mopped up johndenver, lmfao, well even if he did put in his app, after the first time he took a load out and dropped six yards in one pile without moving his truck, they would send him back anyway.

I thought that that was a highly skilled untrainable maneuver that old john could only perform, or would even attempt to perform. you mean contractors don't like that? what is the reason that you can swing your chutes side to side? or even pull forward or backup while discharging? that makes it easier?

Ohhhhhhh pulling forward while dumping,,,,now with me that gets real UGLY,,,something I just cant get used to after all these years...I am know as the PILEMASTER when I have to do that

talk about a rain day, we shipped a whopping 11 cyds today, started the day with 370 weather permitting so...been a lot of web surfing for me today.

Post by batchmaster on May 15, 2006 11:14:29 GMT -5
haven't shipped anything since that 11 cyds...wowzers, when it stops raining, look out, we'll be slammed, how has everyone else in Michigan doing, working at all? we don't have any interior floors or anything going so...when it's raining, we're done. have a couple wall guys that think about pouring, then they change their minds so...hopefully we can atleast get one day in so we can catch up a little!

We had a rainy start and one contractor insisted in doing 2 slab pours on the same job. 4 o'clock on the job ,130 yards then 7am 110 yards. I got one load from 4 am till I washed out at 8:30. everything else cancelled. Not a good PAY BY LOAD DAY :-)

OK OK......I promise to never start a RAIN topic again. This has gone beyond getting into my beer money,a few more days of this and I will be into my mortgage money to pay the bar tab.. IS EVER GOING TO STOP Concretelew: Thats not a bad day for the Producer there..a couple hundred yards on a rain day...you can bet he was smiling all the way to the bank regardless what the drivers made that day..

You got that right ! There were at least 15 trucks sitting in the yard for nearly 2 hours before washing out. Our 2 am pour was cancelled this morning because of the threat of rain and it is dry as a bone out Go figure.... I would have to guess that our 5 other plants were closed yesterday, never heard them on the radio. Off to work I go...

yep so days like yesterday and the few before it, not sure if it was raining over there or not, but they were definitely not any good for you, you have to be hauling mud to make any money right...
|
|

Post by Driver on May 16, 2006 21:24:09 GMT -5
At least I can pick up some hours since I also do some wrenching on the trucks,,,But if we aint got nothing going out we aint got nothing coming in,,,,so I kinda watch my hours to keep payroll down till things pick up..When the mud is flying the hours are pleanty between hauling and wrenching...

well that's good, our work is still all farmed out to another plant's mechanic so...on a rain day there is nobody here but me, and it makes for a looooonnnnngg day for sure.

things are slow for sure! wish they would let me wrench on trucks. lord knows they need it! but i guess they will live by the ol motto "run em till they break" don't make much sense tho. im gettin a bad attitude over all of it. rain, no work, and all the cutbacks. oh well trying ta stay a float aint easy, like i always said "its easy to get something but keeping is the bit.." i hope things pick up soon. for everyones sake!

Post by batchmaster on May 18, 2006 6:39:41 GMT -5
in regards to the cutbacks...you can't tell me that everyone stays busy all day long, no breaks at all...it's not about forcing lunches, it's about being the bigger man and writing the time off when you take a break. no one around this plant stays busy from the time they punch in til the time they go home. we have a lot of sitting around going on and it should not be charged to company time. if from the time you punch in you drive and then if we have down time in between loads and you labor around the plant, that's different. but no one around here, this plant anyways, seems to do that...

LOL yeah john talks his sh** at home too.... *REALITY CHECK* He knows who wears the pants in THIS family ;D Yes I have to agree as far as the rain... true we needed it and once things dry out Im sure you all will be extremely busy (prays) I guess as an outsider I can understand the breaks and lunches on down time or not so busy time... and knowing how things work in the summer, it wont last long only cause you guys get real busy then... well lets hope you guys are busy... these less than 50 bucks a week is killing us literally... LOL@matt wanting the bathroom polished ;D Oh BTW batchmaster... I read a comment you and dear old john was having... I take it he never wants to stay over to work huh?? He tells me there just isnt any work... now Im understanding all this

As far as old johnny boy, rocky mountain high, he had a good thing going until matt started this website, now he is busted. when i ask him at the end of the day "what do you want to do?", all i get out is the "wh," and johnny bolts for the door. so anyways, sorry johnny, actually all i did was punish myself if this has any effect on him, more time with john denver, what a treat. his new nickname is the fart giggler, he almost loses all bodily control from laughter when he farts, like he's 8 years old, very strange.
