Yeah, we had a lot of highway work that didn't start till after 3PM sometimes. Big yardage, too. Sometimes I didn't get home until after 7PM. But, that ended a few weeks ago.

At this rate, I'll take any work that they give out.

Not so much these days because the company really tries to discourage contractors who think the last thing they should do before calling it quits is pouring concrete. Back in the 'glory years' as I prefer calling them, you never wanted to make evening plans that depended on getting off at a decent hour. Fridays were the absolute worst. We even had nick names for the worst offenders such as 'Three O'clock Tony', 'Over Time Orville', 'All Night Albert', and 'Leonard Late Load'. To name a few.

Years ago we apparently had a guy nicknamed Mark in the Dark, and not for the usual reason. He loved pouring with flashlights.

We used to have a customer named "WD Concrete." They were a foundation company.
We called them "Wait til Dark Concrete."
Never started pouring until 7-8 p.m., on a 5-6 p.m. O/J time.

Our plant, Midtown Batch is running a second shift just for one customer.Berkel Drilling out of Kansas is pouring Phase 1 of the new Devon Oil Co. headquarters in Oklahoma City. It is a 50 story building that requires over 1000 retaining wall piers around the perimeter so the dirt doesnt cave in. They drill from 9AM till the noise ordinances kick in at 1130PM.

Are you guys down in Oz as litigious as we are in America? If so, I can see that being true. I just assumed that drill shafts need to be filled ASAP so the sides don't cave in.
Actually, now that I think about it, the first time I ever hauled Shotcrete was late in the evening. You can imagine the look on my face at 7:30pm when lunchtime was a LONG time ago and the guy on the pump tells me he has to chip his hopper out and needs my hose. I asked him if I could fill a bucket of water for him, but nooooooooo...
