IT USE TO BE THE POLICY WHERE I WORK THAT DRIVERS CHIP OUT THEIR OWN MIXER. ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO OSHA PUT THE KABOSH ON THAT DEAL . NOW WE HAVE A SPECIAL CONFINED SPACE CREW TO DO IT AND I WAS ON IT . CHIPPING OUT 320 MIXERS OVER THE WINTER SUCKED! IT KEPT US BUSY OVER THE WINTERS (40hrs./wk.), BUT NOW THAT I'M TIPPING 50yrs. old, CHIPPING GOT OLD . WHEN I FOUND OUT HOW MUCH I WAS GETTING ON UNEMPLOYMENT I WAS AMAZED ! WITH GAS AT $3.50/gal. I'M BETTER OFF SITTING AT HOME MAKING LIFE MISERABLE FOR MY KIDS ;D! IT'S GRRRREAT ! I WISHED I DID THIS YEARS AGO !

Boy we got it easy here every 4 months we have a crew come in and clean our drums. It's amazing they can 12 mixers in a night. Saves us a lot of bother, I used to work at a company where you had to chip your own drum out.

Until last year we had to get in our own barrels and jackhammer out whatever was in there. I tried to go in once a year just to stay ahead of it. Now the new owners hire an outside crew to do the job. During the winter we used to take the trucks completely apart and sand blast each part including the running boards, pedestals and barrel. We also had to steam clean the chassis. That was the worst job. Now they send the trucks out to be painted. Thank you!!

We can't go in our barrels anymore, there's an outside crew that does the job. Our new Oshkosh mixers are painted white, and we do the steam cleaning bit all the time to them. Those of us lucky to have some hand me down 1990 era Advance mixers, well the steam cleaning bit would probably do them in. Plus the new mixers have all sorts of cracks where the rings are coming apart, should make for a funny scene when the jackhammer guy inside it splits the barrel wide open like a walnut...... Drive Safe

yeah, the compressor was a tow behind type, but was mounted in a trailer, right?

we had a guy get 4 yards chipped out of his truck..but it wasnt his fault.. he went on vacation and while he was out one of the other drivers trucks went to the dealer to get worked on.. well him and the driver on vacation didnt get along too well at all.. and they put him in the truck and when my buddy came back from vacation they went to load him they got about 7 yards on him and it started spilling out the back..
