   the genuis here was'nt paying attention as I stopped for a red light, he stopped under my bumper. What pissed me off that he had no license and had his toddler daughter in the front seat with no car seat and the air bag deployed. I felt bad I didnt call the cops and have his sh!t impounded. |

What a doofus. I've started swinging my chute to the side unloaded when I drive conventional for that reason. Better in the hood than the windshield.

Dude... We all see people doing stupid sh!t on the road and hope it never comes to something like that. They follow to close, they swerve/lane change quick in front of us. "If you can't see my mirrors I can't see you", yadda yadda. Most people don't even know, and don't care. We're just dumb truck drivers, but I bet we know more about what's going on around us than they do.

No, I could have, but I did'nt want to be anal about it, he had no way of getting home other than the tow truck I called for him that he rode in with his daughter. No damage at all to my mixer. Took all his info. Had I they would have impounded his car, maybe taking him to jail for no license (for all I know it was suspended) who knows. Cited him for following too close, no license and the no car seat for his kid. What was even funnier was that while we were waiting for the tow to get there he told me he had just spent over 2k fixing it because he was involved in another accident. Had he been by himself i would have called, but here in cali unless someone is injured they hardly come out

Just my .02$. I really would have reported that. With the way people are today, he could try and twist it around on you somehow and say it was a hit and run. "I swear he backed into me and then took off". We have a saying at our company C.Y.A. (cover your ass). I really hope this dosn't come back to haunt you.

I would've reported him for being a bad father. Kid in the front with an airbag? I get the worst road rage when people endanger kids, either by smoking in the car with them or not securing them properly.

Holy crap, we hit someone,or get hit, stop the truck and call the cops, no ifs ands or butts.............

I don't think a hit & run driver would stop long enough to take pictures. IMHO. Mercy is good, but I would have called because of the kid. That man is going to end up getting his kid killed.

It looks like the kid hit the windshield even though the bag deployed.

The airbag will break the windshield. There's no blood splatter, which would've occurred in that instance.

He must have been hiding something other than not having a license because he was pretty insistent that I did'nt call the cops. I dont think the little girl hit her head she was fine. The only thing wrong with her face was red from the airbag deploying. Now I get really paranoid now because exactly a year ago this happened I was rear ended by some chick so I'm on edge now. It sucks this happens, but accident wise I'd rather be rear ended than hit someone.
