This guy must be rollin' some serious HP!! haha here's another 'switch' malfunction...It doesn't look like much, but it's self compacting concrete - 9-10" slump...so it was a pretty big area of coverage....under the pump. We all had a good laugh out of it. The switch malfunction was the operator of the truck was over at the refreshment table...and then we went to 'pump-off'...his buddy he asked to watch his switches...well, he forgot he was watching them... Hope everyone's having a good new year!

Is that you in the bottom picture? If so, I think that's the first time I've seen a pump operator with a smile on his face in that situation.

Mort-
That's me. Hey, it's only concrete - it washes off. There's nothing in my line of work that's worth getting upset over. Stuff happens, right?

Where did the wheelstand happen? We just had a RMC truck do that around here a few weeks ago. I wonder if it's not the same truck. I saw a cell phone picture from a pumper friend.

Refreshment tables!! For sure!
This was a 1500yd pour, with 1 pump. We started at 11pm and finished around noon the next day. The GC had refreshment tables with coffee, donuts, RockStar, sandwiches, water, fruit...they took good care of everyone.

we've had alot of big pours like that, and we never got anything.. My company will bring their $10,000 barbeque pit down to the job and cook for the customers.. but we dont get a damn thing.. alot of the times if we are busy and they dont want us to take lunch they will "cook" hot dogs for us to keep us going.. I usually take lunch when we are the busiest and the company is being a thingy..We have it in our contract we can take lunch anytime we want..alot of us use it to our advantage..

I was talking with a GC one time that said he saw a driver from another local company, on his cellphone, do that one time. Only it was over a bank. I don't think he got hurt, but I'll bet that was his last day.

Yeah, I'll bet.
I am dead certain now that the RM truck in the first pic is the same incident which happened here. I downloaded the pic and blew it up.... NC tags... Surprising though, NC DMV does not require tags on the front of anything. I'll have to talk to my buddy who works for them to find out the whole story and report back.
If I had the time I could find out where it is at by the hotel in the background.

Yeah, I'll bet. Surprising though, NC DMV does not require tags on the front of anything. Maybe they put the tag on the front instead, because half the time it would be obscured by the tag axle. I remembered seeing a bunch of tractor trailers like that when I lived in Chapel Hill.
