So... here I sit, yet another day on will call. Watching bills pile up and terrified that this whole business is just going to get worse. If my job tanks I have no idea what I'm going to do to keep my head above water.
Got me so upset I decided a beer at 12:30 P.M. would change my outlook, it didn't.
Just needed to vent, sorry.

No need to be sorry. A lot of us are in the same boat.
Just remember that those of us that stick it out will be in that much better position when this all blows over. When business gets better, they'll have to hire a bunch more dudes and you'll be above them.

We're all sweating it out. I'm still working but who knows what tomorrow will bring? My wife heard a rumor at her job that a major axe is going to fall before Christmas. Not lay-offs....jobs are being eliminated completely. So, we may both be looking for work.  A neighbor's wife has applied for work all over our area. Lowe's, Home Depot, Shop-Rite Supermarkets and nobody is hiring. This is absolutely the worst I've ever seen it. And I've been driving mixers since 1974. Hang in there brother....it's got to get better.

Sorry to hear brother, business sucks here as well, but we're all still hanging on. Some days theres alota work, some days theres nothing.
I've been hauling road salt in a dump truck this week.....

CHEER UP FELLAS  THE NEW ADMINISTRATION'S GONNA PRINT UP 500+ BILLION BUCKS! 107+ BILLION OF THAT IS GONNA FOR INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIR, SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS....THAT WOULD BE US GUYS . WE'LL ALL BE BUSY COME SPRING TIME FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS ANYWAYS.....SO JUST PUT A LIL' MORE WATER IN THE SOUP n' TOUGH IT OUT A WHILE LONGER. AND TAKE YER TIME AND ENJOY THAT BEER CUZ IT'LL BE BALLS TO THE WALL SOON ENOUGH  ! ......And if it doesn't work, I can always say "I didn't vote for that guy  .

we've got quite a bit of stuff coming up.. a job building an Iron Smelter is getting ready to start within the next year and its about 2 miles from the plant, we've got a school going up now, just gotta wait and see if we get it, a bunch of highway overpasses and exits and on ramps to re do..just gotta wait for it to start

Its gettin rough everywhere rumors has it we are consolidating plants (another word for closing) We are the #1 plant so we are okay but things can go south in a hurry. I run belt, dump and mixer so I got all my bases covered I hope, good luck out there hope lead dog is right with the money being pumped in.

You just said that to make me feel good, didn't you? how'd you guess..It really pisses alot of the guys off that are below me since I'm 6-30 years younger than some of them lol.. I always tell them my mom is younger than they are... |
