NOT OFFICIALLY LAID OFF, BUT ON "ON CALL STATUS" . SAME THING IN MY BOOK . WELL, I REALLY DIDN'T THINK I'D BE ABLE TO DODGE THE LIL' PRICK THIS LONG ACTUALLY ;D. OH WELL, HOPE THINGS TURN OUT A BIT BETTER NEXT YEAR I'M $20K SHORT FROM LAST YEARS EARNINGS. $42K INCLUDING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS. HQ ALSO SAW IT NECESSARY TO UP OUR MEDICAL CO-PAY 35% TOO . THE REGULAR JOE GETS BENT OVER THE STUMP MORE AND MORE

Hang in there brother.... There's no work here either, I've been driving tri-axles or working in the pit, been out of my mixer for 2 weeks now.... keep us up to date on the goings on.

Sorry to hear that. I guess "on call" is better than "thanks for your help all these years." A lot of the guys at my work, including me, are just trying to make the 48 hours a month for medical insurance. With two small kids (5 months and 5 years), that's pretty important to me.

Sorry to hear about that.. alot of our guys are on call aswell.. if they have a 9am start time they are off 80% of the time..

Sorry to hear the bad news Dog, I know what you mean how these young guys with families get thru I'll never know, Our kids are grown (still have there hands out for help now and again) plus I have my Military retirement so we can survive if the Layoff monster comes my way. Like CF keep us posted things got to turn around sometime.

all of our guys get a start time, but if they dont need them/us they have to call an hour before our start time.. if they call 59 minutes before my start I dont answer and come in and get 2 hours..

I'm still workin' between 3 and 5 days a week. Our company keeps us busy, thank god, and I'm a rookie 7 months in. Hope we get through winter alright. No layoffs yet, or talk of it.

Well, hello the silio fell on me as well, laid off, job attached. Its happened once befoe. Its funny most drivers want time off now I have plenty. This job is one extreme or the other, never in the middle. Have you ever tried to make plans when working? Now I make maybe plans, that works but drives my wife nuts. All I can say is the days are getting longer and spring and summer will come. Hang in there all of you, if not then there's always another type of work.
I feel for you as I am one of many, patience and not living beyond your means is the key if you want to stay.
