So this "Runaway" song from Jefferson Starship came on this morning, I haven't heard it in I think 25 years. All of a sudden I start remembering Kelly from the summer of 1979, She was my girlfriend's (now my wife) best friend, and we had huge crushes on each other. We're sitting on my girlfriend's parent's couch under the blanket watching the NBC Movie Night & listening to an 8 Track of J-Starship's "Earth", this song comes on, really popular at the time, and Kelly & I touched hands, held hands, and rubbed each other under the blanket.
God Damn, she was beautiful, elegant & graceful in her every move. A total angel, I swear to God.
I actually had to pull over on Rt 9 on my way out of the plant and lay my head in my hands on the steering wheel.
God I miss her,
I wonder what could have been, but I don't know what she'd want with a truck driver like me.
I had to tell someone, my wife & kids won't quite understand, and as for the rest of the guys at work, I'd never be able to show my face again,
