this is a True story. I can't believe that it's true myself, but it happened.
So I'm on U.S. 15-501 this morning, and i'm beebopping along doing 5 under the speed limit back to the plant, and I see a Sunrock truck pull onto the road, (road is 4 lanes here) we ride side by side for awhile, and then he speeds up and then the light ahead turns red, S.T. wooten Front D is turning right from the right onto our road. So, he has to wait, and misses the protected turn light, we, the two trucks being where we are, motion for him to go on, so he does. So now we have three competing companies riding together on this road. So, we ride like this for about 2 miles and lo and freakin behold a Ready mixed concrete truck is making a left at the next light onto where we're going. So now it's like the beginning of a joke, right? So the Ready mix truck drives slow so we catch up to him, and it was like, everyone fanned out to fill all 4 lanes, and we roll up to the next light, concrete mixers in every freakin lane! except the left and right turn lanes.
The crossing light turns yellow and the sunrock revs his truck, and then the s.t. wooten does, and then, me not wanting to be the last, I rev mine. So the Ready mixed he revs his, and the light turns green. I decide I don't want to have to explain to my boss why I got a ticket drag racing in a mixer, so I stomp it just to see who has the acceleration factor (3rd gear of 5 maybe 25mph), and then I just let out of it, wanting to be the responsible mixer driver. Well, guys it's a good thing I dropped out when I did, cause they took off, speed limit's 45 and I know they probably got up to 60-65 by the time the State Trooper saw them, and he pulled out of his hiding spot and got all freakin three of them. I'm not entirely sure who "won", but I made sure I blew my horn at them all pulled over on the side of the road, feeling like the "real" winner in the situation, I continued on my merry way, while they wondered if they still had a job.
I guess it's a good thing I kept my head, I'd imagine they were all laughing at me because I "chickened" out. Well, I'm not even going to say it, you already know.
On a side note, sunrock does not have governors on their trucks, I have seen a sunrock truck FLY by me while I'm going along at 65 mph. Doing 80 or more.
Drive Safe Guys.
