I was pumping along the other day, minding my own business...and I heard this clickity-clack...flack-o-thwomp etc... Everything looked OK so I went over a little closer to investigate and saw this: Chain-drive action!!! I couldn't believe it. the cab was almost rusted in half around the bottom too....par for the course All I had was my camera phone - sorry that it looks like everything's under water...

That must be the short straw truck. Its a surprise that something like that is still on the road. Our company is retiring perfectly good trucks with hydraulics and everything.

I haven't seen a chain drive mixer on the road since the very early 80's. Takes me back.

Come on Billy ! what about red's truck? that old ford parked on the hill... I can only assume that "JMCY" is my old pal Joe. What up, dog? Red's truck? That old Ford has probably been melted down and made into some Mustangs.

Yea it's me Billy (JOE) I remember that old ford had a real bad clutch and red was the olny one who could drive it ! I think Mark scraped them after red retired for good.

I was talking with our top driver on a job once, just BSing. Somehow it came up that he asked me how old I was.
I told him, 26 (at the time, 27 now). The next words out of his mouth were, "So I started working here before you were born?" Poor Jeff, he's such a nice guy, and I'm sure I ruined his day.
