Gentlemen we had one hell of a time at work yesterday. One of our loose cannons stopped taking his meds and thumped the dispatcher. He had been complaining of harrasment by the dispatcher for the past couple of weeks. He even claimed sexual harrasment. Yesterday they wrote him up and gave him two weeks off on a bogus charge. They said that the inside of his drum was trashed. Well, everybody's drum is trashed. Nobody has been allowed to get into their drums for over 2 years. It takes months to get your drum cleaned out after you tell them it's getting bad. So, needless to say he was a little ticked off. As he was leaving the dispatcher followed him out into the street hollering at him and getting in his face. He told him three times to back up out of his personal space. When he didn't he clocked him. Four stitches above the eye, a black eye and seven stitches on his elbow. Details are still sketchy, I'm just glad that there is a mess that I'm actually not involved in.

This happened out on the street, off plant grounds? Was the driver clocked in?

Serves that dispatcher right. Doesnt make the dude right for doing decking him, but sh!t happens. |

As far as I know he was clocked in. The whole situation stinks. This dude isn't the most liked individual and most won't miss him. I don't agree with how he handled things, but he felt that he was being harrased. I can see his side of things. The dispatcher shouldn't have followed him out the gate. Mistakes were made on both sides. I'll be honest. We knew something like this was going to happen. The dispatcher has the ability to piss people off and I've always heard the comment,"Someone's going to dot him one of these days." Well, it happened.

That sucks. It sounds like they were looking for a reason to get rid of him in the first place, but the company could've handled it a bit better.

at our plant if you have problems you clock out and walk outside that gate and the problems get worked out..
