I don't believe that I had ever read the rest of this post...so this is a very late reply, but better late than never. As far as figuring out who you were Hollywood, having someone's birthdate makes it very easy to do, that was the only thing I had on you and the fact that you knew me from somewhere. And even though I have left "the company," you didn't have the connections to get rid of me when I was there, even though you have this misconception that you were some kind of big shooter there. I've also yet to figure out who this mystery man with 25 years was that they got rid of...only people I can think of that is gone was just riding out there paycheck anyways. And even though this is mixerdriver.com, you are in the dispatch and management section anyways, so you remember that.

Seems you all know each other. Im a plant manager down here in Fayetteville, Ar. Small company 50 trucks, 4 plants. My biggest pet peeve with drivers is when they pull into the yard and no other trucks are here and they park on the ready line and walk all the way up to the batchhouse, just to be told to put it under to load. They usually take their sweet time both ways.

I would say just about all my pet peeves have to do with lazy and bad attitude drivers. I understand being tired and grumpy sometimes but it's never an excuse to be a jerk or to half ass do your job.

i'm a driver and have no problem with taking a lunch if i did. Our company doe's it on the honor system which i like cause they don't hassel you with all that. Basicaly it all boils down to integrity which some have and the one's that don't eventually find themselves walking.

Slumpy, take a coffee cup of that powder off your truck, take it upstairs to the batcher and dump it all over his desk. See how he likes it. If your really frisky, wash it off with your hose:) Just make sure your union shop steward would back you.............. Drive Safe

Dispatcher's drivers plant personnel, all make everything work smooth, without drivers, dispatchers wouldn't have a job. My biggest pet peeve is when you get a power hungry, kiss ass dispatcher in the office that thinks the world revolves around him. A driver can make or take a dispatcher apart. wrong addresses on tickets, no map pages or wrong ones. To wet but mainly to dry of a load after loading. Anyone can push buttons, the computer does the rest. If the ticket says a 4 then why we get 1" slumps?. It seems that the batch man wants the driver to slump up the load himself relieving himself of the responsibility, thats not batching its pushing buttons, and dispatchers should spend 1 week every two months in a truck as to not to forget what its like to be in the field. If a driver feels humble so can a batch-man and a dispatcher. Its not rocket science, in fact its just rocks and sand cement and water not a way to make an atomic bomb. The driver is the emissary of the company, he meets and works with the customer every day face to face. good drivers are hard to come by and good batch-men and dispatcher's are even harder, they let their job go to their head. I have done both and excelled at both,
