$14.75 in southern Oklahoma.

I started out at $6.50 an hour in 2000 for a different ready-mix company. I drove thirty miles one way for that wage for eight months before I got fired (WHOO-HOO! THANK YOU JESUS!) and went to work for some deep pocket folks who bumped me up to $7.50 ::).

When in doubt walk it out.

Hello boys just thought id pop in and see what your all up to state side. I drive a mixer over here in the UK just outside London our rates of pay are hard to work out per hour we get paid all sorts of bonuses , to do with distance, number of loads ect but the basic hourly rate is POOR. We work about 55 to 60 hrs a week there is no longer a union. On average, it would be £27/28,000 per year top line. How does that compare?

Most Teamsters in the San Francisco Bay Area now make $30.33/hr and $5.62/hr (capped at 2080 hours) into the pension. Employers also contribute $1.00/hr into 401(k).

Bay Area mixer drivers are represented by Locals 315, 287 and 853. Companies include Cemex, US Concrete and Bode Concrete.

Teamsters Local 853 is headed by Rome Aloise, recently appointed as Western Region Vice President to the International's General Executive Board.
